Meet Our Staff
The staff at Akron Transmission Inc. are all highly trained and certified technicians with one common goal in mind - quality service at honest prices. Our transmission center is diligent in applying the ATRA Member Code of Ethics to all of our transmission repair and diagnostic services for the purpose of better assisting our customers with their repair needs and concerns. Adherence to the ATRA Code of Ethics also helps ensure that when you bring in your vehicle for transmission service or repair you know that you are receiving honest and professional service from our technical staff. Our transmission technicians are always polite and courteous in their effort to provide you with the quality of service you want and deserve.
Gary Sayre Jr.
Operations Manager-OWNER
Gary Jr., being raised around cars, has always been involved in the business. He started in 1978 full time. He since has seen great changes in the transmission business. He is constantly educating himself to keep up with the fast paced industry. His background along with his knowledge is why dealers and many others turn to him for advice.
Randy Barnhart
Rebuilder
Randy is our Rebuilder. He is qualified to work on anything from Ford, Chrysler,GM to foreign transmissions. Hes the guy that keeps track of all the updates in transmissions as well as how to make them last. He has been with us for several years making him very important to our company.
Jess Sayre
R&R TECH
Jess is a r&r tech,as well as our torque converter rebuilder. We rebuild our own torque converters here on site. Jess also does alot of our diagnosising, the most important part of the job,knowing whats wrong & how to fix it right the first time.
Terry Crutchfield
R&R Technician
Terry scans,& troubleshoots vehicles to diagnosis problems. Also is our torque converter rebuilder. We are unique that we rebuild our own torque converters.
